Under the Influence of Jupiter and Neptune: Beating the Odds
I was born addicted to drugs that my mother abused during her pregnancy. For the first several weeks of my life, I remained in the NICU, fighting to stay alive. The doctors were all skeptical about my potential for recovery, but I eventually pulled through and was discharged to my parents.
At the exact moment of my birth, Neptune had crossed over my Ascendant, and Jupiter, just 3º below the horizon and within orb of Neptune, was not too far behind. The Sun was in Pisces and the Moon was in Sagittarius, conjunct Uranus and the South Node in my 12th house.
With such a significant Jupiter-Neptune presence in a chart, most astrologers will tell you that, in its worst expression, there is the potential for substance abuse, especially when this issue is already present in the native's family. The best astrologers will also tell you that astrology is not fatalistic and there are often opportunities to pull from other energies within the chart to beat the odds of experiencing a potential challenge.
I like to believe that Lord Jupiter played a role in me pulling through my harrowing, near-death experience and that my Mars- Saturn conjunction in my 10th along with Pluto conjunct my Midheaven, gave me the upper hand in shaping my life path. I have worked diligently in stopping the generational cycle of addiction and my line of work revolves around helping others transform their lives as well.
